The summer seisiún series is a simple concept, familar to the Irish tradition of rambling houses – a series of 7 events during July and August, hosted by a group in a convenient location, featuring the best of traditional Irish music, song, dancing and story-telling, with simple but welcoming hospitality. And yet, there is also something new and unique in every seisiún – with no two seisiúns exactly the same as you travel across the country.
Spink Comhaltas have hosted seisiúns since 2014 as part of Comhaltas nationwide Seisiún program at the Heritage House Museum – an old school house in the picturesque heritage town of Abbeyleix which is now home to, among other fascinating items, carpets from the same factory as those on the ill-fated Titanic.
