Yvonne is from Killeshin in Co. Laois. She was born into a musical family and began to play music at a very young age. She is an accomplished fiddle and concertina player, composer and teacher.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Traditional Irish Music and Dance in 2009 and followed this up with a Master’s degree in traditional Irish music performance from the University of Limerick in 2012. More recently she completed a Master’s in Education from St Patrick’s College.
Yvonne has released two commercial albums. Her debut solo album ‘Silver Threads’ was released in 2013 and was very well received. 2016 saw the release of her second album, ‘Storm Party’ with the highly acclaimed band D’Bize. Yvonne has performed at music festivals all over Ireland, Britain, Europe and as far afield as China.
In 2010 she founded the Bolton School of Music, which quickly established itself as one of Carlow’s leading music schools.
With her vast performance and teaching experience in both classical and traditional music, Yvonne proves to be a dynamic and innovative musician. An original student and member of Spink Comhaltas she has returned to her roots to inspire and drive the players musically.
